General Surgery

In addition to our specialized services, LOC is well equipped with the skills and state-of- the-art technology that can address major general surgical conditions with the help of Laparoscopic approach ( minimally invasive in nature ) . is a thin, lighted scope called a laparoscope is inserted through a very small incision. The instruments to repair the organs are inserted through other smaller incisions in the lower abdomen. Laparoscopy Advantage

The laparoscopic repair has the advantages of being minimally invasive and facilitates quicker recovery, lesser pain, lesser risk of infection and faster return to a normal routine, as compared to open surgical procedure.

Laparoscopy, the technique that needs smaller incisions, uses a very tiny video camera to view the organ in the abdomen during the operation. The incision made to the abdomen being small is hardly visible after a few months. Laparoscopic techniques are offering more and more safe and effective treatment. The technique rapidly evolving and advancing towards smaller and lesser incisions.

Recently, significant advances have taken place in laparoscopic skills and in technical instruments, endoscopic surgery involving improved and advantageous techniques are available in almost all types of conventional abdominal surgeries.

Gall bladder Stone

Removal for gallstones and other diseases

This surgery is also known as Cholecystectomy. It is performed to remove the gallbladder and gallstones by making multiple small incisions in the abdomen. As per the latest research in the world, the Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy procedure is most effective.

Laparoscopic Colon Surgery (Colectomy)

Removal for tumors and other diseases

Colectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the colon, also known as the large intestine, fully or partly. The colon is a long tube-shaped organ present at the end of the digestive tract. It is followed by supplementary procedures to reattach the remaining portions of the digestive system and enable waste to leave the body.

Laparoscopic Spleen Removal (Splenectomy)

Removal for blood disorders or spleen abnormalities

Splenectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the whole spleen. The procedure is called a partial splenectomy, when only a part of the spleen is removed,

Laparoscopic splenectomy with advanced surgical techniques has turned out to be the most popular option for treatments. With these new techniques, even massively enlarged spleens are removed from the abdominal cavity through smaller incisions using an electromechanical morcellator,

Removal of Soft Tissue Lumps and Bumps

Soft tissue tumors are the growth of body cells emerging in the body anywhere. These masses are commonly referred to as lumps and bumps. These masses can be cancerous or benign. When such mass is identified to be a sarcoma that is cancerous growth is diagnosed, doctors recommend prompt treatment involving surgery for the removal, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or a combination of these.

Diagnostic tests include all or combination of X-ray, angiogram, and scans such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan, Computed Tomography (CT) scan and bone scan. With this information in hand, the physician would perform a biopsy on the mass to diagnose its etiology. When a biopsy is needed to be done, the surgeon chosen for the biopsy should be the same surgeon who would be doing the removal procedure of the mass, later on.

Port placement for chemotherapy

A chemo port is a small-sized vein-access device that has an implantable reservoir with a thin silicon tube that attaches to a vein. The main advantage of this device is that chemotherapy medications can be delivered directly into the port rather than a vein, eliminating the need for needle sticks. A chemo port is surgically inserted and placed centrally in the upper chest under the skin near a large vein.
